Former Track Winners Amongst this weeks Hunter Certs

Foxrock, the former Grade 1 performer who won four hunters chases last season and who was also crowned the Tattersalls Ireland Champion Hunter Chaser of last season, has received a hunter certificate for this term.

Trained to victory last season by Ted Walsh, the nine-year-old who won his four-year-old maiden at Loughrea, is now in the care of Alan Fleming for his owner, Barry Connell and was last seen in the Irish Grand National in April where he pulled up before the fourth last.

The son of Flemensfirth is joined by stable companions Sammy Black and Usuel Smurfer among this week’s hunter certificate list.

Sammy Black, former winner of the Mayo national along with three-time winner, Usuel Smurfer who has lined-up in the Kerry and Munster national, will also be representing the Alan Fleming and Barry Connell team for the season ahead.

Other headline horses to have received hunter certificates in recent weeks include 2016 Thyestes winner, My Murphy. The Willie Burke-trained eleven-year-old, who won his five-year-old maiden at Ballynoe in April 2011, has won six races on the track including a Grade 3 hurdle and a Grade C chase along with over €150,000 in prize money.
