Rescheduled Moig South to feature first 4yo Mares Maiden

The first four-year-old mares’ maiden of the spring, typically held at Lemonfield each year, has been saved thanks to the Stonehall Harriers.

The race, which is the first opportunity for four-year-old mares’ to run against their sex, was won last year by Post Trish, a subsequent Listed winner for Paul Nicholls, and it had been cast in some doubt when the Lemonfield fixture had to be cancelled due to ground conditions.

The Stonehall Harriers, who had their own weather issues, which forced the postponement of their original fixture at Moig South last Sunday, will now look to rerun their fixture, in the Lemonfield date on Sunday 4th March.

Whilst it was initially announced that the rescheduled Moig South fixture would retain its original set of programmed races, It has now been announced that the fixture will run with the six Lemonfield races.

This will include two four-year-old maidens, one for mares’ and the other restricted to geldings’.

Entries for this fixture at Moig South will close on Tuesday 27th February.

The meeting will now feature a four-year-old mares’ maiden, four-year-old geldings’ maiden, five-year-old geldings’ maiden, five-year-old and upwards mares’ maiden, open lightweight and six-year-old and upwards geldings’ maiden.
