Allannahs Gold lands Fairyhouse Hunter Chase

Allannahs Gold lands Fairyhouse Hunter Chase

Allannahs Gold registered his first win under rules when he scored in the Fairyhouse maiden hunter chase under Derek O’Connor.

The son of Golden Tornado was a winner at Nenagh at the end of January having finished runner-up to Rattle The Cage at Boulta in November on his seasonal reappearance.

Carrying the colours of Eileen O'Mahony, the Declan Queally-trained winner got off the mark in point-to-points at Bartlemy last May in a confined maiden.

The seven-year-old was at the head of affairs for much of the 2m5f contest and was joined turning into the straight by the eventual runner up Sizingdowntherhine who presented a strong challenge to winner after the final fence but a strong drive from O’Connor managed to get Allannahs Gold up in time to win by three quarters of a length.

The Mark O’Hare ridden runner-up Sizingdowntherhine was last seen at Portrush in October where he was third behind One Cool Clarkson for the Jim Dreaper yard.

Third home was Timewaitsfornoone a further three and a half lengths back while Turtulla Open winner, Follow The Moon was fourth for the Daniels family.
