Macs Legend eases to victory in Tramore Hunter Chase

Macs Legend registered his first win under rules when he scored in the Outcider hunter chase at Tramore under Johnny Barry.

The son of Blueprint was a winner at Ballynoe on St. Patricks Day when he won a six-year-old-upwards maiden.

Following up that run, Macs Legend was then second at Cork on Easter Monday in a Hunter Chase where he finished only one length behind Oscar Contender.

Carrying the colours of Shane Prendeville, the Gerard Kelleher-trained winner who was backed into the 5/4F held some good track form from previous seasons in which he was second on three occasions when in the care of Miss Mary Louise Hallahan.

The 10-year-old made most of the running in the 2m5f contest and appeared to relish the soft ground conditions.

The Seamus Fahy-trained Caniwillyegiveme tracked the long-time leader throughout and tried to produce a challenge on the run to the final fence but was unable to match the winner on the run-in where he finished seven lengths in the runner-up spot.

Third home was the Jimmy Finn-trained Be My Dream under Liam Quinlan who later won the bumper for the Henry De Bromhead yard. Be My Dream finished third in mares’ maiden at Horse and Jockey in March.
