Family success for Queallys in Killarney Hunter Chase

Family success for Queallys in Killarney Hunter Chase

Minella For Value produced a flawless display to land the Dan Linehan's Bar And B & B hunter chase at Killarney.
Runner-up in last year’s race, the 12-year-old was ridden close to the pace before taking up the lead after the third fence where he remained at the head of affairs throughout.
Minella For Value quickened well over the final half a mile which had many of his rivals under pressure including the former champion hunter chaser Foxrock who pulled up after the fourth last.
Stretching clear from the penultimate obstacle by Declan Queally, Minella For Value pulled away from his main challenger, On The Fringe who finished 15 lengths behind in the runner-up spot with the Michael O’Sullivan-ridden Wilcosdiana a further three and a quarter lengths back in third.
Trained by Declan Queally’s father and namesake, the son of Old Vic has won nine point-to-points to date which includes three point-to-point successes so far this spring.
Carrying the colours of Bernie Queally, the winning riders mother, Minella Fo Values previous run before this evenings win was at Dromahane on the sixth of May where he finished just two lengths behind the leading pointer from this season, Sydney Paget.
Winning handler Queally indicated that his charge may now go to Listowel for the hunters chase on the fourth of June.
