WEEKEND PREVIEW: Necarne (Friday)

WEEKEND PREVIEW: Necarne (Friday)

Race 1: Devenish Nutrition 4yo Mares Maiden

METHODTOTHEMADNESS looked as though she would go very close before coming down on debut at Monksgrange and she could prove tough to beat. Ebaa Hana caught the eye on her debut at Largy last month, as despite being sent off as one of the outsiders of the field, she travelled very strongly during that race before finishing a close second. Of the others with a previous run, Lady Getaway offered some promise before coming down at the last at Stowlin.

Race 2: Guinness U.D.V. 5yo Mares Maiden

OSCAR LIGHT was very well supported ahead of her points debut at Largy last month, and whilst she was not able to turn that market confidence into a race win, she did gain some credit by finishing in third. Connections clearly have confidence in her and she could be worth a second chance here. Stable companions Hello Pilgrim and Ciaras Cara both enter the race with a recent placed run behind them, as too does Listentothewomen, whilst Jasper Bear and Lucys Gold both disappointed a Loughanmore last Saturday and will be out on a recovery mission here.

Race 3: Albert Bartlett 5yo Geldings Maiden

POGUE was very unlucky not to make a winning debut at Dawstown earlier this month, as a bad mistake at the final fence cost him success, ultimately missing out by a narrow margin. It would not be a surprise to see him make amends in this. The luckless Classic Escape would look the main danger if putting in a clear round, as he would be deserving winner having shown plenty of promise to date. No Hidden Charges disappointed at Loughrea having been very unlucky at Courtown, whilst Capmonfor ran ok in Ballysteen.

Race 4: Barry Healy & Company Solicitors Ladies Open

The score between CAVITE BETA and Samanntom stands at one apiece this season, with the former turning the tables on their Borris match-up when they crossed swords most recently at Loughrea. A Decent Excuse and Vinnie Luck enter the race having both won their last two races and ensure that this would look to be a very competitive race.

Race 5: Harte Peat & T P Topping Winner of Three Geldings

This would seem to revolve around recent winners Donjon and James Boru. DONJON, who was entered in the Champion Hunter Chase at Punchestown last month, disappointed at Tipperary last week, but he has won his last two starts between the flags and is the marginal selection in this. James Boru is the big danger having won a very competitive adjacent maiden at Loughanmore last Saturday and is sure to go very close.

Race 6: Fermanagh Harriers Buttons 6yo+ Mares Maiden

TORNADO SKY was sent off as a well-supported favourite for her debut at Largy, but she did herself no favours by racing very keenly, before ultimately coming down at the final obstacle. She will hopefully have learned plenty from that opening run. Tourgar Pure Gold powered home late to force a photo finish at Stradbally, whilst Lady Of Derrygally has twice finished second and will be in the shake-up once again.
