IHRB Point to Point Stewards Enquiry Co. Limerick (F) Athlacca Point to Point Meeting Sunday 12 April 2026

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr D.M. O’Connor, rider of Star Charm, concerning his riding before the last fence in the 5yo Geldings Maiden when his mount appeared to be fatigued before subsequently unseating its rider at the last fence.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he should have pulled up before the last fence and apologised for his actions.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 33 (ii)(b) (failure to pull-up a horse that had no more to give). Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr D.M. O’Connor for one Point to Point raceday.

The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr M. O’Flynn, rider of Rongoright, placed first, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the Winners Of Two

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(g) in that he had used the whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr M. O’Flynn for 2 Point to Point racedays.
