One of the few parkland point-to-point courses, Bellurgan Park was only introduced to the fixture list in 2016 and takes place within the grounds of 200 acres of woodland which also hosts the Louth Agricultural Show.

A flat course dominated by two long straights which run very closely to each other, the runners begin at the bend that takes them out of the home straight where there is a very slight incline on a short run to the first of five fences that are jumped on each circuit.

Quickly arriving in the back straight, there is a decent run on the level before they meet the two fences that are jumped at this part of the course. Both obstacles are positioned close together, presenting something of a jumping challenge. The field then have the longest run on the flat at any other point on the course, as the track gently curves to the right before they begin to take the long left-handed bend into the home straight.

Fence four comes up quite quickly off the bend with a right-handed elbow to be negotiated before the runners straighten on up to fence five, which also acts as the final fence. There is a good sized run between the final two obstacles, with a shorter run-in.

Despite being a recent addition to the pointing scene, Global Citizen is already the standout gradate to emerge from Bellurgan Park, with the subsequent sales topper a Graded winner.
