TRACK GUIDE
The course at Killaloe has hosted point-to-point racing since 1994 for the East Clare Harriers on the lands of the Flynn family at Garranboy in Killaloe.
The undulating course, combined with the often testing conditions that the late February date that it has traditionally held since 1997, have ensured that stamina is often at a premium at the course which typically stages races for older horses.
Point-to-Point racing has not taken place at the course since 2015 following a number of cancellations over consecutive years.
DEREK O'CONNOR
I rode my first winner around Killaloe and it is quite a unique track.
It is very undulating and being run at the end of February, conditions tend to be very tough.
Most of the races are usually for older horses and experience is needed around here. It is a stiff finish but it does tend to be a fair track.
