Stowlin was introduced as the course for the annual East Galway Foxhounds point-to-point in April 2018 following on from Eyrecourt, Laurencetown and Lisbeg, quickly becoming a popular addition among riders and handlers.

The right-handed course sees the runners begin on the entrance to the back straight where there is a relatively short run to the first fence, one of three along the back straight. After negotiating the opener, there is a decent run to the second obstacle, which is jumped after racing through a gap, with a much shorter run to the third and final fence in this line.

Taking a long right-handed bend, the runners arrive at fence four before a further, more gentle curve, brings them quickly to fence five in the home straight which comes quite quickly after that elbow. After passing the winning post, there is still quite a long way to run before the end of the home straight, which comes up with a long near 180 degrees bend back to their starting point.
