The point-to-point at Tralee takes place at what was formerly Tralee Racecourse in Ballybeggan Park, which had hosted racing since 1898, including a race festival to coincide with Rose of Tralee each August. The likes of Dawn Run, Vintage Crop and Desert King all graced the course prior to its closure in 2008 when the lands were sold off to a property development consortium. The Economic Recession halted any development plans allowing point-to-point racing to commence at the venue in 2011.

A left-handed course of about 1 mile and 2 furlongs, races begin after the bend out of the back straight and have a nice run along the side of the course before leaving the ground at the opening obstacle. From there they soon round the home bend to continue towards the first of two well spread out fences which are situated in the home straight.

After passing the winning post, the runners quickly make their way into the next bend beginning their run away from the grandstand, where they jump fence four, on what is the shortest of the four straights that make up the course. Swiftly after jumping that obstacle, the runners make their way into what is a gently curving back straight where the fifth fence is positioned bringing them back to their starting point.

Thyestes Chase winner Monbeg Notorious won his four-year-old maiden at the course back in 2015.
