Open Lightweight Race Novice Riders
For Certified Hunters aged 4 years old and upwards, the property of subscribers to any Hunt in Ireland.
No Penalties. Mares allowed 5lbs. 4-y-o Maidens excluded.
For Novice Riders who, on the Monday prior to the closing of entries, have not ridden more than fifteen winners under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing, including Point to Point
Steeplechases. Riders who have not ridden more than 5 winners are entitled to a 5lb allowance.

Former Irish National fourth SNUGSBOROUGH BENNY may not have won since taking a Rated Chase at that same venue three years ago, however the switch to the open lightweight division this season has already seen him go close at Umma House before he then chased home the Cheltenham Festival contender Vaucelet in a Hunter Chase. He could make a long-awaited return to the winners enclosure in this. A Rated bounced back to form at Castlelands and comes here as the obvious alternative whilst Is A Real Champ would be interesting on his first step into open company.
