4-Y-O Maidens excluded. No Penalties. Mares allowed 5lbs. For Novice Riders who, at midnight on the Monday prior to the closing of entries, have not ridden more than fifteen winners under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing, including Point to Point Steeplechases. Riders who have not ridden more than 5 winners are entitled to a 5lb allowance.

Lough Derg Spirit dominated this race last year when scoring by 16 lengths, but he could have more on his plate this time around, with BOLD ENOUGH potentially a tough nut to crack after impressing on his open debut when easily accounting for the capable Saint Doroux in Kirkistown. Somptueux also made a winning start in the open division at Bellharbour and looks the big danger to his former stable companion.
