Aidan Fitzgerald, John Nallen and Willie Murphy have won the last five renewals of this and the trio could all field runners in the 2023 renewal, and it is hard to get away from THE VILLAGE WAY further enhancing the success that Fitzgerald has enjoyed in the race. He may have been no match for Speed Davis at Boulta, but it was a good debut in the four-year-old division. The veteran Strong Roots has changed stables since she was last seen and she is battle-hardened handicapper and that experience will stand to her against a field where newcomers could feature heavily.
