For Novice Riders who, at midnight on the Monday prior to the closing of entries, have not ridden more than fifteen winners under any Rules of Racing or Steeplechasing, including Point to Point Steeplechases. Riders who have not ridden more than 5 winners are entitled to a 5lb allowance.

GALE FORCE JET looks to be particularly effective around here. The seven-year-old has won on two of his three visits to this course, with his only defeat here coming when he got within six lengths of Chemical Energy in October, and he should continue his good record in this. Longhouse Star did beat the selection at the end of last season, but it is likely his selection, Beau Walking, who is the biggest threat. He is on a hat-trick bid having won snugly on his first attempt in open company at Comea, whilst Five Star Getaway is better than his latest effort.
