Race 1: Liambuckleycarsales.com 5yo Geldings Maiden
Donnchadh Doyle unleashed an impressive winner at Tallow last Sunday, and he could be represented by two horses more than capable of winning this with Go Whatever and KEEP WONDERING. The latter chased home Cenotice in a very competitive race at Oldcastle last May, a race that has since produced three subsequent maiden winners.
Barrowlands has hit the crossbar on both outings to date and is clearly not far from a maiden success of his own, with the likes of Mister Eddman and Jeremy Sunshine others that enter the reckoning.
Race 2: Tattersalls Ireland 6yo Geldings Maiden
KILDRUM finished just two lengths behind Press Conference, a horse that now holds Cheltenham Festival entries, in a four-year-old maiden last season, and he would have to be strongly fancied to win a race of this nature, having finished placed on a further two occasions before disappointing in Tipperary.
Generator City will expose any fitness concerns with the selection as he only lost out by a head at Bellharbour a fortnight ago, whilst Kilrane Road, Diegos Way, Witness Protection and Worzel Gummidge are others for the shortlist.
Race 3: Carey Glass Winner Of One
The Enda Bolger runners could hold the key to this race, as they have entered two horses with markedly different profiles. SAINT BENEDICT won his four-year-old maiden at the first time of asking at Rathcannon in November, whilst the exciting Hunter Chaser Staker Wallace could potentially return from a two year absence. He is a horse that finished a close third in the last renewal of the Raymond Smith Hunter Chase to have been run at Leopardstown on just his fourth career start and is still very much unexposed.
Shanacoole beat two of last weekends winners when returning to victory at Dungarvan, whilst Shuil Luas and Dualla Time are two mares that ran notably well at Kilfeacle recently.
Race 4: Connollys Red Mills Ladies Open
Despite being a race that excludes previous Grade 1,2 or 3 winners, this could be a red-hot renewal with FENNOS STORM potentially taking on Ucello Conti. The former got the better of the seasons leading hunter chaser at Kilfeacle and has to be given serious respect as a result.
Former Irish National winner Thunder And Roses would be a threat on his penultimate start, whilst the likes of former Cheltenham Foxhunters hero On The Fringe, It Came To Pass, Holly Flight and Samanntom complete the obvious contenders in a potentially very competitive renewal.
Race 5: Local Trainers 5yo Mares Maiden
FORTHEGREATERGOOD held the advantage for a short period on the run-in at Kilfeacle last month, only to be overhauled by a fellow newcomer in the closing stages.
Some Bite was also forced to settle for second on her debut at Turtulla and is the clear alternative, with the likes of Trumps Ace, Ulterior Motives, Bannixtown Glory, and The Wise Maid others that cannot be discounted.
Race 6: Millerect Ltd 7yo Geldings Maiden
The Paul Power-trained TINTERN TRAILS returned from a long absence to finish a very encouraging second at Tinahely last month and he likely sets the standard here.
Verticalpebble and Mustmeetforapint finished second and fourth respectively at Cragmore last Sunday, with the latter having made a crucial late mistake, while Kilfeacle-second Vinnies Nephue and Mister Flemington, who came up against an above average winner at Ballinaboola, are others sure to get involved.
