17 horses have been entered in the Remus Uomo Hunters Chase at Down Royal on Saturday which is run over 2m4f at Down Royal. The €10,000 contest is restricted to horses that have not won more than one Hunters Chase.
There are a number of interesting contenders amongst the line-up including 10-time points’ winner Longhouse Music. The Sam Curling-trained mare has won six of her last seven starts between-the-flags and seeks to break her maiden under rules here.
Holly Flight actually beat the afore mentioned when taking a mares’ open at Dungarvan at the end of January and Paul O’Flynn’s charge could be a dangerous here.
Pierce Powers’ Burning Ambition was sent off favourite for the Cheltenham Foxhunter’s last season and was certainly not disgraced when finishing eighth. The eight-year-old was beaten on his last start at Belharbour but bids to bounce back to form here.
The seven-year-old Hi Murphy has been progressing through the ranks this season, having broken his maiden back in the Autumn. The Sean McParlan - trained gelding has won his two subsequent starts and is clearly an improving sort.
It Came To Pass was running a big race when falling three-out in the Cheltenham Foxhunters back in 2016 and now in the care of Eugene O’Sullivan, the nine-year-old took a Lismore open recently. The son of Brian Boru has clearly had a few issues in recent years but could be a dark horse here.
Gearoid O’Loughlin has his first Cheltenham Festival runner this week and Sidetracked could bring some solid form to the table having taken a Hunters Chase at Clonmel back in January.
