Sixth point success for Mahler's progeny this season

Mahler sired his sixth point-to-point winner of the 2018/19 season on Sunday when Aloneamongmillions, enjoyed debut success at Ballyragget on Sunday for Sam Curling and Pa King.

Owned by Tessa Foreman, the six-year-old gelding ran out a four-length winner over the Brian McCarthy-trained Kildrum.

Mahler has produced many Irish pointers which have succeeded on the track including Ms Parfois, Ornua and Delusionofgrandeur.

The Anthony Honeyball-trained Ms Parfois ran in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter on Saturday finishing up second behind Potters Corner. The eight-year-old has won six times on the track accumulating over £140,000 in prize money.

The chestnut mare began her career in Irish points, winning her four-year-old maiden at Boulta for Martin Hassett and Jane Davis.

Ornua ran in the Arkle at Cheltenham last week but unfortunately fell at the sixth. The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding has won five races under rules to date including the Grade 3 Ballymore Novices' Chase at Roscommon in October last year.

The eight-year-old had two-point-to-point runs in Ireland, winning on his second start at Rathcannon for Joey Casey and Richie Deegan back in 2016.

The Sue Smith-trained Delusionofgrandeur recorded six successes on the track and accumulated over £60,000 in prize money. The bay gelding won his five-year-old debut in the hands of Jamie Codd at Ballinaboola for Ger Hourigan.

The son of Galileo stands at Beeches Stud for a 2019 stud fee of €5,500.
