Getaway's progeny record three-timer

Getawaytonewbay was the first of Getaway's progeny to achieve success in points this weekend recording victory in the six-year-old mares maiden on Saturday at Durrow. The mare ran out a four-length winner in the hands of Shane O'Rourke for Vincent Devereux.

Further success for Getaways progeny was achieved at Liscarroll on Sunday.

Winter Getaway took the six-and-upwards mares maiden for Michael Winters and Michael O'Donovan. Owned by breeder Edmond Cogan the mare pulled up on her previous start and may now be sold.

New Earth scored success in the winners of one race for Michael Kennedy and Michael O'Sullivan.

Getaway also enjoyed pointing success earlier in the season with Deploy The Getaway. Willie Mullins and Harold Kirk purchased the gelding for £200,000 at the Cheltenham February sales following on from an impressive 20-length debut win for Donnchadh Doyle.

Mullins has also enjoyed success with Getaway's progeny in the past with the likes of Getabird and Getareason.

Getabird won six of his ten starts for owner Rich Ricci, including Grade 2 success at Punchestown and Fairyhouse last season. The gelding began his career pointing for Colin Bowe, winning at the second time of asking at Largy in the hands of Barry O'Neill. Mullins and Kirk purchased the gelding from the Punchestown sale for €200,000.

Getareason was second on his point debut at Punchestown for Warren Ewing back in February 2017. The gelding won three times under rules and has also been placed at Grade 1 level this season. Mullins and Kirk purchased the gelding for £140,000.
