Ellen Doyle and John O’Neill combined for a double on the day and they opened their account on the afternoon courtesy of newcomer Askthebosslady in the second division of the Shantou & See Moon four-year-old mares’ maiden, when getting the better of long-time leader Feuille De Lune by an impressive six lengths.

Wexford handler Ellen Doyle said: “She had been showing plenty at home, so we were hoping that she might do something like that. She is owned by Billy Yoke from Rathdrum in Wicklow and we have a few more at home for him too. He is delighted with the winner.”

The second division of the Tattersalls Ireland four-year-old geldings’ maiden saw Do The Floss complete the Ellen Doyle and John O’Neill double when getting off the mark at the third time of asking, having been left clear to run out a wide-margin winner when favourite Getaway Milani came to grief at the penultimate fence whilst upsides.

“He was come on a lot since his last run and I was really happy with him at the end of the race, he was really coming there and proved himself. We will see how he pulls out in the morning, hopefully he will be sales bound, but he is for sale anyway,” said Doyle.

Donnchadh Doyle was another handler who enjoyed a double on the day and Paradise Run provided him with the his first success in the first division of the Shantou & See Moon four-year-old mares’ maiden.

The daughter of Fame and Glory showed a very likeable attitude, which saw her gain the upper hand over Fame and Hope to win by two lengths in the hands of Brian Lawless.

Donnchadh Doyle’s brother Eamon said: “She is a grand mare that is owned by our cousin Declan Doyle. He has had a couple of horses before but not with much luck, so this is a nice change of luck for him. She will be sold now.”

Doyle was back in the winner’s enclosure when taking the second division of the Tattersalls Ireland four-year-old geldings’ maiden as his Hometown Hero recorded an eye-catching eight-length victory over his brother Sean’s Oscar Thyne under James Walsh.

“He is a great stayer. The ground was heavy for him last season when he ran in Durrow, he much preferred that ground there. He is a better horse on nicer ground and over a trip. He is for sale,” said Eamon, Doyle’s brother.

Eddies Miracle came out on top in what was the closest finish of the afternoon in the Boomerang.ie open for novice riders, when getting up by just a neck on the line to beat Horendus Hullaballo for handler David Christie, providing novice rider Ben Harvey with his fourth winner of the season.

Northern Handler Christie said: “That was a hell of a run from Eddies Miracle. Ben (Harvey) game him a great ride, he is a good lad. It is huge after everything that happened with him.”

Richie Deegan and Aidan Fitzgerald have enjoyed a long-standing partnership, and they teamed up to their latest success when Katoune Tara came home five lengths clear of newcomer Shanavoun Lady in the Walsh Whiskey five -year-old mares’ maiden.

“She was going to win the first day when she fell at Castletown, and then I ran her back to soon at Stowlin. We held her back for today and I was expecting her to do something like that. The Morrissey’s (owner) are neighbours of ours and that is the first horse they have had with me. She is for sale and I think she will be a smart mare that would go well in a bumper,” said Fitzgerald.

What About Time made his experience count coming off the back of a second-placed finish at Lingstown two weeks earlier by scoring in the John Smyth Plant Hire Ltd five-year-old geldings’ maiden for handler Sean Doyle to deny runner-up Bannixtown Glory by five lengths.

The Offaly-based Loughnane family understandably gained a great deal of pleasure from
the success of Added Time when he provided rider Damian Loughnane with his first career success by returning five lengths clear of Dubai Dandy in the Walsh’s Homevalue Hardware six-year-old and upwards maiden.

Winning rider Damien said: “He can be quite lazy at home, so I wasn’t coming here expecting a lot, but that was just brilliant. He will either go for a winners’ race or maiden hurdle now. I am based at Shane Borderick’s and ride out at home we have a few point-to-pointers and breezers.”
