Weekend Preview | Durrow Sun 22nd March 2020

BROSNA (F) at Durrow on 22nd March 2020

First Race:13:00pm
Number of Entries: 72

Race 1 - ITBA & The Walsh Family 5yo Mares Maiden

QUARRY GIRL went close on her debut at Ballycahane and it would not take much further improvement to see her get her head in front here.

Her main rival could prove to be Passion View as she chased home the more experienced Timeless Beauty at Oldtown, with her conqueror on that occasions then being sold for 100,000. Whilst Caletta Storm adds further depth to this race as she was still very much involved at Cragmore when falling late on.

Race 2 -  Midland Veterinary Winner Of Two

MR MANTILLA may well have suffered the first defeat of his career at Lingstown two weeks ago, but he certainly went down fighting and emerged with a great deal of credit. He could regain the winning thread here.

Costalotmore is certainly a very capable opponent having gone close in a point-to-point bumper last season, but he does have to overcome a lack of a recent run which may leave the easy Punchestown winner, We Will Sort It as the main danger.

Race 3 – Glenwood, Tullamore 7yo+ Mares Maiden

RACHELS SURPRISE certainly bounced back from a couple of late departures when she finished a very close third against younger mares at Ballycahane.

The step back into older mares company should see her deservedly rewarded. Rosy Story and Honest To Goodness are two mares that have been knocking on the door for some time, whilst Presentingserenade is another that cannot be discounted.

Race 4 - Coolmore & B D Flood Ladies Open

LITE DUTIES has been in top from in recent months, winning three of his last four starts. With that sole defeat coming at the hands of recent Cheltenham Foxhunters fourth, Staker Wallace, he has been keeping good company of late.

Mighty Stowaway may have been well beaten at Thurles last month but he is a three-time winner this season and cannot be discounted, with Samanntom another for the shortlist.

Race 5 - Dunnes Stores 5yo+ Adjacent Maiden

KNOCKDRIN was the first newcomer to finish in a big field maiden at Tyrella recently when a very encouraging fifth. This drop into adjacent company should be rewarded.

Easca Mor was another to run respectably on his debut when finishing fourth to the useful looking Minella Escape at Bellharbour last month, whilst his stable companion Any Time brings plenty of experience.

Race 6 - KEPAK 7yo+ Geldings Maiden

THE BONNY BOY has been knocking on the door this season and would be a very deserving winner of this following three quite narrow defeats.

Diegos Way would certainly enter the equation on his Knockmullen House effort last month, whilst the returning Cemister and Shantou Article are others to have shown plenty of ability in the past.
