Top jockeys show their support for #ShowYourColours

Some of Ireland’s top point-to-point jockeys have teamed up with Focus Ireland to support their ‘Show Your Colours’ campaign.

This summer Focus Ireland is encouraging counties across Ireland to ‘Show Their Colours’ and help raise funds for the charity’s vital services by asking businesses and communities to wear or hang their club, county or parish colours on July 3rd, 4th and 5th to brighten up villages, towns and cities across Ireland.

This can be by T Shirt, tie, dress, hair, shoes, flags, bunting, doors, Focus Ireland is encouraging everyone to be inventive and creative and #ShowYourColours

Reigning champion jockey Barry O’Neill alongside the record breaking Derek O’Connor and Cheltenham Festival hero Maxine O’Sullivan have given their support to the campaign by showing their colours for Focus Ireland.

Focus Ireland CEO Pat Dennigan said: “The last three months have been extremely challenging for people across the country but ‘Show Your Colours’ is an opportunity for people to take pride in their community while raising money for our crucial services nationwide.

“Whether it's sporting events or cultural festivals, Ireland has always been extremely proud in showing our colours but unfortunately the Covid-19 pandemic has meant many events have been cancelled completely. I look forward to seeing the creativity of our fundraisers in showing their colours for Focus Ireland whether through flags, T-shirts bunting or even dying your hair.”

Mr Dennigan added: “We now have the opportunity to make this a national event and we are asking everyone who registers and fundraise to ‘Show Your Colours’ by sharing pictures on their social media channels and our enter a competition to win a fabulous prize.”

From North to South, from East to the West of Ireland, from Limerick to Waterford, to Sligo and Clare, from Cork to Kilkenny and Wexford to Louth, and Dublin to Galway,  Focus Ireland delivers services to the community as we challenge homelessness and change lives.
