It Came To Pass headlines Fairyhouse P2P day entries
The reigning Cheltenham Foxhunters champion It Came To Pass could be set to make his first appearance on a racecourse since that big day in March as he is one of 15 horses entered for the feature race on next Tuesday’s point-to-point race day at Fairyhouse.
With Willie Mullins also entering Billaway for the INHSC Celebrating 150 Years Hunter Chase, that first two in that Cheltenham Foxhunters could lock horns again at this very early point in the season with the rising stars of the Hunter Chase ranks – Aloneamongmillions and Some Man also engaged.
That pair filled the first two positions in the Tetretema Cup, with Some Man already coming out this season and winning impressively at Curraghmore, whilst his stablemate Winged Leader, and Gordon Elliott’s Mighty Stowaway are other notable open winners from recent weeks that feature in the entries for the 2m 7f contest.
That race is one of three hunter chases scheduled for Tuesday’s card, with the former Champion Mare Longhouse Music headlining the entries for the Berkshire @ Kedrah Mares Hunter Chase, where Sliabh Mhuire Lass, who finished in front of her at Ballycrystal recently, could also feature.
The Portrush scorer Templebredin is among 23 entries for the INHSC Maiden Hunter Chase, where he could come up against the likes of the 2019 INHSC Winners Final victor Wrong Direction, Er Dancer, one of eight horses to have already won two races this season, and Gerard Lawless’ capable three-time points winner Lough Derg Lyric.
The impressive Loughanmore winner The Mean Queen is the only maiden winner from this season entered in the Irish EBF point-to-point Bumper for mares, whilst in the geldings equivalent, Gordon Elliott’s £255,000 acquisition Hollow Games is among 14 entries, however the Beat Hollow gelding is one of a number of horses entered that does not hold a current hunter certificate, a requirement to run in the race.
The two handicap hurdles on the card are restricted to qualified riders and 40 horses have been entered for the opening race in the brand new John Thomas McNamara QR Series Handicap Hurdle, with a bumper 91 entries for the other Handicap Hurdle which is restricted to riders with 20 or fewer point-to-point and track wins.
