Billaway followed up on his recent Cheltenham success when landing the Irish Daily Star Champion Hunters Chase in the hands of Patrick Mullins.
The son of Well Chosen who attempted to make all gave up his position at the sixth last when making a bad mistake and leaving Barry O’Neill and Vaucelet in front.
The pair battled strongly approaching the straight pulling clear of the third Dorking Cock, both made a mistake at the last but the Willie Mullins charge got away the better and stayed on well on the run-in to deny the David Christie trained Vaucelet by a length and a quarter.
The ten-year-old has now won six times from his thirteen starts under rules.
