INHSC Report | 25th - 26th November 2023

I.N.H.S. Committee stewards report from West Waterford (F) Boulta point-to-point meeting Sunday 25th November.

The Stewards interviewed Mr A.J. Browne, rider of West of Carrig, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the Winner Of One contest. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. A.J. Browne for one Point to Point raceday. 

 

The Stewards interviewed Mr B. Dunleavy, rider of Mountain Molly, placed first, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 4yo Mares Maiden. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. 

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(g) in that he had used the whip with excessive frequency. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. B. Dunleavy for one Point to Point raceday. 

 

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.W. Hannon, rider of Electric Dreamer, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo & Upwards Maiden. 


Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. J.W. Hannon for one Point to Point raceday. 

 

The Stewards interviewed Mr D. O'Connor, rider of Potters Charm, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 4yo Geldings Maiden - Division 1. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. D. O'Connor for one Point to Point raceday. 


The Stewards interviewed Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Eaton Anne, placed first, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of the 5yo Geldings Maiden. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(h) in that he had used the whip with his arm being or appearing to be above shoulder height and Regulation 58. 3. (i) in that he had used the whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. 

Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr. J.C. Barry for two Point to Point racedays. 


I.N.H.S. Committee stewards report from Stonehall (H) Moig South Point to Point Meeting Sunday 26th November 2023.

The Stewards interviewed Miss F. Fox, rider of Gosheven, placed third, concerning her riding in the latter stages of the Open Lightweight, where she failed to pull-up her mount when it appeared to be fatigued and made a bad mistake at the final fence. 

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 33 (ii)(b) by failing to pull-up when her mount had no more to give and was fatigued. 

Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Miss F. Fox for one Point to Point raceday. 


I.N.H.S. Committee stewards report from Killinick (H) Lingstown Point to Point Meeting, Sunday 26th November 2023.


The Stewards interviewed Mr. S. Staples, rider of Borna Gem, unplaced, following a report from the Clerk of Scales that he had failed to weigh-in, in the 4yo Mares Maiden - Division 1. 

Evidence was heard from the Clerk of the Scales and the rider who admitted that he had failed to weigh in. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards found the rider in breach of Regulation 44 (iii) (failure to weigh in), and having taken Mr. Staples previous record into consideration, fined him €150.
