The Boardmills Stud Hunter Chase is set to be the first Hunter Chase run at Navan racecourse since 2003.
The race will take place this coming Sunday the 17th February and with little rain forecast the going is likely to be unusually quick for the time of year. There are a total of fifteen entries in this 3m chase.
The 12yo Sholokhov gelding Kruzhlinin owned by Camilla Sharples who is head girl for Gordon Elliot is one to watch having come out on top in his last six P2P starts, three of which have been on good ground this spring.
The Scorpion gelding Burning Ambition who is handled by Pierce Power won his season debut at Templenacarraig P2P in early January but was disappointing on his last run in Belharbour to finish 3rd, the eventual winner of this race Sidetracked trained by Gearoid OLoughlin has form on good ground which should may suit for Navan on Sunday if the rain holds off.
Notably, the 7yo bay gelding Coastal Tiep is another with form on good ground winning his last two P2P starts in Kirkistown and Loughanmore before Christmas.
