Race 1: Coolagown Stud & AIB Fermoy 4yo Maiden
The John Nallen-trained MINELLA LIGHTENING is the only horse that brings previous experience, having been strongly fancied ahead of his debut at Bellharbour. He finished second, beaten 15 lengths on that occasion, having run well for a long way, and may be suited by dropping back in trip here.
Donnchadh Doyle unleashed an impressive winner last Sunday and is represented once again, as is Pat Doyle, who has already won two four-year-old maiden races this month.
Race 2: Rathbarry Stud & Tattersalls Ireland 5yo Geldings Maiden
Donnchadh Doyle could be represented by two horses more than capable of winning this with Go Whatever and KEEP WONDERING. The latter chased home Cenotice in a very competitive race at Oldcastle last May, a contest that has since produced three subsequent maiden winners.
The Philip Fenton-trained Barrowlands had to settle for second on both his two outings in the spring, and his connections will be expecting a big performance from him here on his seasonal reappearance, whilst Freedelivery ran with plenty of promise at Ballinaboola a fortnight ago.
Race 3: Gain Feeds & Amber Oil Service Station, Fermoy 6yo Mares Maiden
SOME BITE was only beaten by three lengths on her debut at Turtulla, and comes here a fresh horse that is sure to have improved for her debut. West Vintage has her first outing in older mares company and she is very close to maiden success having offered promise with each visit to the track thus far.
Crystal Kate has been a busy campaigner in recent weeks and made up good late ground at Cragmore last Sunday, whilst Uppertown Poppie would have claims on her second at Mainstown.
Race 4: Riordans Supervalu & Cafe Ed Fermoy Mares Winner Of One
KIERA ROYALE has been set some tough assignments this season, having more than adequately acquitted herself against geldings on more than one occasion, including when second at Ballvodock recently. She was also a fine second at Clonmel in Hunter Chase company and would be a deserving winner here.
Shuil Luas is another to have run well against geldings, and she will give the selection a tough test, whilst Dualla Time was a noteworthy maiden winner at Kilfeacle on the first time of asking.
Race 5: Glenview Stud & McCarthy Insurance Group (MIG), Fermoy 5yo Adjacent Maiden
A wide-open race on paper with little form on offer. Fanahans Well was the last of four to complete at Ballyvodock earlier this month, but the drop back in company could help him here, as he was not beaten that far.
The newcomer MEMORY CENTRAL is a homebred for connections, who also trained her dam Rosie Kilrain to win an Affane maiden on debut as a seven-year-old and will be hoping to do so with her first foal, albeit at an early stage in his career.
Race 6: Coolmore & Grange Stud & Shinnicks Spar Fermoy 6yo Geldings Maiden (Nov Rdrs)
The Paul Power-trained TINTERN TRAILS returned from a long absence to finish a very encouraging second at Tinahely last month and he likely sets the standard here.
Mister Flemington came up against an above average winner at Ballinaboola and has been progressing nicely all season long, ensuring that alongside the likes of Jean Lecroix and The Bonny Boy, they are the likely contenders.
