Preparations coming along nicely for Lisronagh P2P

Tipperary Foxhounds have preparations well under way ahead of their second Point-to-Point this season at Lisronagh.

As of Tuesday lunchtime, the going is described as Good, and the ground will be watered from Wednesday onwards.

The fixture will take place on Sunday 31st March and the start time has been moved back to 2pm. The Tattersalls Ireland four-year-old geldings maiden will get proceedings under way.

The rekindling of the ITM Ladies Open Series kindly Sponsored by Kirbys Pharmacy and Pat Doyle Racing will be a highlight on the card with reigning champion lady jockey Liz Lalor looking to add to her winning tally this season. No mean feat as Liz only recently became a mum to Alex. Since then she has ridden her 100th winner, becoming only the 3rd woman in history to reach this milestone. Looking to top her first Mother’s Day off in style, Liz will have RTE’s Nationwide cameras following her on the day and a winner will definitely be sought after.

The day will conclude with the Mad Hatters race – this is a race for the hunting bravehearts who will take on seven point-point fences and then race over a mile to find our hunting Mad Hatter winner. This race guarantees a lot of tally -hooing and laughter and is an ideal way to round off a top class days racing.

With the weather forecasting looking promising this is sure to be a great day out for all the family.
Gates open from 12.30pm and admission is €10.
