Yeats, who stands at Castlehyde Stud for a 2019 fee of €5,000, enjoyed a three-timer over the weekend bringing his season total up to 17. This moves the son of Sadler's Wells up to fifth place in the standings for leading sire.
Two of the three winners sired by Yeats came at Dromahane in county Cork. The Richard Black-trained Tucanae was first to score for the Coolmore stallion when taking the four-year-old maiden.
An exciting race which saw the placings of the first two horses reversed following a stewards enquiry. Noreen Bawn was subsequently relegated to second place for hampering Tucanae on the way to the last.
Brian Jordan would find some consolation two races later when the Bull McCabe claimed the spoils in the five-year-old mares, providing Yeats with his second success of the afternoon. Locked in a battle with the runner up, De Future Is Bright, from the home bend the Noel Casey owned gelding mastered the favourite within the final 100 yards.
The Yeats treble was brought up later in the afternoon when Bella Ballerina secured the older mares' maiden for Robert Tyner and Barry O'Neill. The Catherine O'Driscoll-owned mare justified her favouritism here when winning by a comfortable three-length margin.
Over the years, Yeats has produced many former pointers that have become top class horses between the rails including the Cheltenham Festival winner Shattered Love, the four-time winner De Rasher Counter for Emma Lavelle and Nicky Henderson's seven-time winner Brave Eagle.
