Weekend Preview | Dowth Hall 27th October

Race 1: Tattersalls Ireland 4yo Geldings Maiden

Donnchadh Doyle saddled a four-year-old maiden winner last Saturday at Portrush, and he could well swiftly follow up with PASVOLSKY. A close third at Necarne on his debut, he looked destined to be placed once again at Inchydoney only to come down at the second last, and this should likely be a similar grade race.

Stablemate Texas Gold disappointed at Toomebridge on the opening day of the season, whilst Ardhill and Ballydam both represent another stable in form, that of Colin McKeever.

Race 2: Fleet Financial 5yo Geldings Maiden

The two horses that chased home the smart looking Do Your Job at Castletown Geoghegan on the opening weekend of the new season could re-oppose, with both Elmdale and Beatthebullet, featuring in the entries. The former was having just second start and is taken to confirm the Castletown placings once again here. Song Of The Hunter, The New Kid and Er Dancer are others who can make an impact.

Race 3: Hannon Travel Open- Novice Riders

SPACE CADET was reported to be preparing for a tilt at the Troytown Chase at Navan next month following his victory at Castletown-Geoghegan three weeks ago, and he will be looking to come out on top here in a bid to bolster his chances at that valuable handicap.

Some Are Lucky and Reigning Supreme chased him home at Castletown and will certainly not be too far away, whilst track recruit Measureofmydreams, last Sundays Tinahely winner Better B Quick and Bridgets Pet, who was second at Portrush last Saturday, add further depth to the race.

Race 4: ITBA & Sherry Fitzgerald Reilly 5yo Mares Maiden

DREAM DE DREAM
outran her big starting price when finishing fourth at Toomebridge on the opening day of the season, and with the horse she finished less than a length behind, coming out and winning at Portrush last Saturday, her effort has received a timely boost. With the stable in good form, she is the one to beat.

Queen Among Kings is rarely out of the money in recent outings and will likely go close, whilst Kalamansi Cooler could be of interest if improving for the change to a new yard.

Race 5: Boyd Stores 5yo Unplaced Maiden

GOING SOLO would likely have finished in the placings but for exiting at the last in Tyrella at the beginning of the year when with Warren Ewing, and so by the nature of the conditions for this race, that would be quite notable form. Carricklee, Toast To Thomas and Squeaks Bubble are others with previous form.

Race 6: James Gogarty Stone Winner Of One

LIKE A DEMON finished placed behind subsequent Aintree Foxhunters runner-up Burning Ambition when tackling hunter chase company at Down Royal last March, and will likely face nothing of that level here, as his connections look for their second successive victory at this fixture, having won the open 12 months ago with Mr Boss man.

Pegase Amour has returned to points in good form this season, whilst Pyrios dead-heated at Castletown-Geoghegan to win his maiden for the second time and can step up.
