Gordon Elliott and Jamie Codd combined to take both point-to-point bumpers at Fairyhouse on Tuesday, as having teamed up with Happy D’Ex in the mares bumper, it was Glenglass who added to their successes in the geldings’ equivalent.
Sent off as the even-money second favourite it was his first outing since making a winning debut in a Tallow four-year-old maiden for Colin Bowe in Tallow February 2020 after which he was bought by Elliott and Mouse O’Ryan for £155,000.
Making all of the running in the two-mile contest, those front-running tactics gave him the edge over Pat Doyle’s recent Umma House winner O’Moore Park, and whilst that horse did overcome early keenness to make his challenge inside the final 110 yards, Glenglass was able to hold on for success.
The favourite ultimately prevailed in the Bective Stud colours of Noel and Valerie Moran by a next, with a further ten lengths back to Ballymist in third.
