Grade 1 Success for Gerri Colombe

It was a successful half hour for Irish Pointers as Gerri Colombe was the third Irish Pointer of the day to register a Grade 1 victory after he landed the Guinness Faugheen Grade 1 Novice Chase at Limerick in the hands of Jordan Gainford.

The Gordon Elliott trained individual justified favouritism when running out a four and a quarter length victory over the Willie Mullins trained Adamantly Chosen.

The son of Saddle Maker who carries the familiar colours of Robcour always looked in command and stayed on gamely in the hands of Gainford for a convincing victory.

The six-year-old started his career between the flags with Wexford handler Colin Bowe and switched to the Gordon Elliott stable after winning his maiden at Lingstown in March 2020.
