5,000stg Point2Rules Bonus dangled for 2024/25 season

ThoroughBid – Racing’s Online Auction House – has confirmed that the popular Point2Rules Bonus will once again apply to all pointers sold during the 2024/25 season.

The bonus of £5,000 is triggered for new connections when any UK or Irish Pointer bought in a ThoroughBid sale goes onto win Under Rules on debut at a UK or Irish racecourse.

So far, two horses have landed the bonus; the Eddie & Patrick Harty-trained Grandero Bellow and Victory Club for Dan Skelton.

On the news that ThoroughBid’s Point2Rules Bonus will be extended for the 2024/25 season, Patrick Harty commented: "The Point2Rules Bonus is a great incentive. It's enough to make you go that one bid higher and overall it's a boost for the pointing industry.

"We bought Grandero Bello through ThoroughBid, and not only has he turned out to be a really nice staying chaser, we managed to win the £5,000 bonus with him too! We look forward to seeing what's to come in ThoroughBid's Christmas Sale.”

CEO of ThoroughBid, James Richardson, said: “With the start of the new point-to-point season upon us we’re delighted to once again be offering our £5,000 Point2Rules Bonus.

“It’s an initiative that’s been welcomed by a lot of key players in the industry and it’s definitely had a positive impact on our sales. It is a very winnable bonus, as displayed by Grandero Bello and Victory Club already, and it really helps to stimulate sales.”

ThoroughBid is now accepting entries for its Christmas Sale, which takes place from 9am-12pm on Wednesday 18th December. The online auction house’s offer of Risk-Free Consignment also applies, meaning an entry fee is only applicable if the horse sells.
