The IHRB have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2024/2025 season.

HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply.
(i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-To-Point steeplechase since 5th October, 2024.
(ii) The number of horses declared will be then reduced by balloting those horses that have not won more than one Point-To-Point steeplechase since 5th October, 2024.
(iii) In the event of Paragraphs (i) and (ii) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
