IHRB Point to Point Stewards Enquiry Wexford (F) Point to Point Meeting Sunday 9 November 2025
The Acting Stewards interviewed Mr J. O’Grady, rider of Commander King, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of the 6yo & Upwards Geldings Maiden.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the relevant whip regulation.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Acting Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 58. 3.(c) in that he had used the whip unnecessarily when his mount had clearly obtained its maximum placing.
Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Acting Stewards suspended Mr J. O’Grady for one Point to Point raceday.
