A native of Limerick, Ray Barron made his first appearance in the point-to-point fields aboard John Gleeson's Clogher Rose at Liscarroll in 2011, and 11-months later he recorded his initial career success when teaming-up with Mrs Henderson at Rathmorrissey. Ray, who has had a season's best winning tally of six during the 2016/17 pointing season, was selected to represent his country in the second edition of an expanded 2018/19 Gentlemen's League Fegentri Championship, winning round two for Emmanuel Clayeux in a French point-to-point at Chateau-Gontier in May 2019.
