Peter Kavanagh made his point-to-point debut at the age of 19 aboard Mad Jack Mytton at Knockmullen House in November 2019, and that same Cormac Doyle-trained horse would go on to provide him with his first success when winning a novice riders open at Turtulla two weeks later. A graduate of RACE, the Wexford native rode as an apprentice on the flat, having six rides for Willie McCreery, the last of which came in May 2019. A first four-year-old maiden success following quickly in his point career, when Colin Bowe’s Velvit Elvis won at Nenagh in February 2020. During the following season, Kavanagh made the switch to the professional ranks.
