Coming from a background of eventing and pony racing, Luke rode in two Bumpers in the summer of 2022 before he made his point-to-point debut at Kildorrery in Feburary 2023 aboard Blackprint for his father Alexander Ott. In April 2024 he partnered his first point-to-point winner aboard Inchidaly Copper at Dromahane trained by his father Alexander.
