Son of Group 1 and Ascot winning trainer Michael Halford, Josh partnered his first bumper winner for his father and Tracy Collins aboard Tarnova at Punchestown in October 2023. With a background in showjumping, where he has previously represented Ireland at under-age level. Josh got off the mark in point-to-points when scoring aboard the Enda Bolger-trained Honey Be Good at Tullaherin in April 2025, and later that summer he represented Ireland in the Gentlemen's League, winning the Swedish leg in Stromsholm.
