Roger Quinlan is famed for having parternered many household names to success during the infancy of their careers. A brother of fellow riders Sean and Liam, Quinlan recorded his initial points victory at Punchestown aboard Five Rascals in February 2001. He also went on to guide two subsequent Irish Champion Hurdle winners to win four-year-old maiden winners, namely Petit Mouchoir at Kirkistown and Faugheen at Ballysteen. In September 2020, Quinlan announced his retirement from race-riding, with his last winner between the flags having come at Ballyragget in March on the final day of the season before the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
