It is hard to look beyond THE GREAT UNKNOWN in this. Sam Curling has won two of the last three editions of this race, and this seven-year-old, who is owned by his mother Adelia Greer, has been the class act of the mares division this season and will be expected to land her sixth win of the campaign here. Hathaways Cottage was successful in this race 12 months ago, but has disappointed since. There were more positive signs in her latest effort in Down Royal to end a run of non-completions, whilst pointing newcomer Carmarthen has an unusual profile on stable debut, as she was last seen running in a 5f handicap on the flat for Linda Perratt.
