Three from three for Eden Du Houx after Listed success

Four-year-old’s from Baltimore Stables have been in red-hot form of late, with Ellen Doyle sending out four winners in the age division during the autumn, and their graduates are also doing the business on the track at present, with Eden Du Houx preserving his unbeaten record at Ascot on Friday.

Sent out by her brother James to make a very impressive debut at Monksgrange back in April, the French-bred defeated the well-backed odds-on favourite Tactical Move by four lengths on what was his competitive debut.

Since then, the son of Irish Wells has added further success, firstly at Plumpton on his first start for the David Pipe yard, having been bought privately by Bloodstock Agent Tom Malone, out of the Baltimore Stables.

Sent off as an 8/1 shot for a competitive renewal of the Listed bumper at Ascot on Friday, Eden Du Houx made all of the running in the hands of Tom Scudamore, as he took on no fewer than seven other last-time out bumper winners.

Whilst fellow point-to-point graduate, and previous listed bumper winner The Glancing Queen, stalked him into the straight, she was unable to get her head in front, and ultimately dropped into third in the closing stages, as Imperial Alcazar stayed-on into second.

But neither could ever get on terms with Eden Du Houx who ultimately won going away by one and a quarter lengths.

The four-year-old is now as low as 16/1 with SkyBet for the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, a market currently dominated by Irish point-to-point graduates.
