Sad day as Ms Parfois is forced to retire to stud

The Martyn Chapman-owned Ms Parfois has been retired to stud due to the same injury that ruled the daughter of Mahler out of the Aintree National earlier this month.

The  eight-year-old had already enjoyed plenty of success on the track in recent years and looked set to continue in the same fashion.

Having started her career with a debut victory in the four-year-old maiden at Boulta for Martin Hassett in December 2015, she was then purchased by Anthony Honeyball the following February for £40,000.

A winner on her debut start under rules in a bumper at Uttoxeter back in April 2016, the mare went on to record two hurdle successes the following season.

Ms Parfois took to chasing during the 2017/2018 season and was never out of the frame in any of her seven starts.

The mare won two listed races and was also runner up in three Graded races over fences beaten by three quality horses, Terrefort, Rathvinden and Black Corton.

On her last run, Ms Parfois put in a brave performance at Uttoxeter in the Midlands National to finish second to Potters Corner by three lengths.

We wish Ms Parfois all the best at stud.
