Arcadio sired his sixth point-to-point winner of the season at Taylorstown when the Donnchadh Doyle-trained Evander took division one of the four-year-old maiden.
The gelding, who was bred by Frank McGuinness, battled gamely on the run up to the line to deny the more experienced Battle Of Actium by one-and-a-half lengths. The €13,500 foal was steered to victory by Wexford rider Rob James.
The son of Monsun has also sired the likes of the Grade 1 winner Hardline and the Grade 3 winner Go Conquer.
The former is owned by for the Gigginstown House Stud and trained by Gordon Elliot while Go Conquer is owned by Paul and Clare Rooney and is trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies. Both of these former pointers have gone on to earn over £180,000 in prize money.
Bright Forecast is another of Arcadio's progeny to make a successful transition from pointing to the track. The five-year-old has shown plenty of promise since finishing third in his four-year-old debut at Belclare for John Costello last March.
Now in the care of Ben Pauling for The Aldaniti Partnership, the gelding has run four times this season winning twice and placing twice in Graded company.
The Arctic Tack Stud stallion also enjoyed a successful racing career in his own right winning the Bavarian Classic at three years old and winning twice at Group 2 level at four years old.
