Weekend Preview | Tinahely 20th October

Race 1: Winners Enclosure Bookmakers 4yo Maiden

Colin Bowe has been the man to follow within the four-year-old maiden division in the opening weeks of the current season, and he could be well represented in this, including with PREMIUMACCESS.

That Milan gelding chased home the subsequent big-price seller Wide Receiver on his debut at Cragmore, and so there will be plenty of interest in how he fares as a result. Mounty Guiry was only beaten by a length at Rathcannon in April by Firak and is sure to be a big player, whilst Pats Fancy, Junior Rattler and Nelsons Rock are others that should not be too far away.

Race 2: Goffs UK Autumn P2P Sale 5yo Geldings Maiden

HARD GROUND
only went down by three quarters of a length at the end of last season when a close second at Kinsale in June. It would not take much further improvement for him to get his head in front for Denis Murphy.

His sister Bernie could saddle the chief danger, Choctaw Brave, a horse that finished a strong second at Tralee on his debut. With that race already producing a maiden winner this season, he is a big threat. Meanwhile What About Time finished a close fifth behind Ofallthejinjoints at Monksgrange on his debut in April, and form received a boost when he won at Chepstow last weekend.

Race 3: Mares Winner Of One

THUNDER DRAGON
beat four subsequent maiden winners when she got her head in front at Punchestown last February, and although not seen since, she sets the clear benchmark in what could be a competitive renewal of this race.

Shuil Luas posted a number of placed performances against fellow winners last season, and can be forgiven her disappointing run at Kinsale which came at the end of her debut season, whilst Getawaytonewbay can also enter the mix on her fine second to Fort Worth Texas at Courtown.

Race 4: Open

The Chris Jones colours have already been carried to success in open company at Castletown-Geoghegan with Space Cadet, and track recruit MALA BEACH could add to that here. Last seen pulling up before the second-last in the Aintree National behind Tiger Roll, the 11-year-old is a former Troytown Chase winner with a track rating of 152 ensuring he is the one to beat.

New stable companion Vyta Du Roc can improve upon his pointing debut, whilst Call It Magic is another smart former track performer, who was well fancied for the Topham Chase over the National fences at Aintree in the spring, before exiting at the Canal Turn.

Race 5: 5yo Mares Maiden

A wide open looking race that could go the way of Style It Out who is well-related and may not have to find a great deal of improvement from what she showed in two outings last season to win a race like this.

Lilymae and Any Time both have plenty of experience behind them, Mamaslittlestar was placed in the spring, as was Leeswood Lily, however she could only manage sixth on her return at Castletown-Geoghegan a fortnight ago.

Race 6: 6yo Geldings Maiden

RAN RITE finished second in two of his three outings last season, including on his debut at Turtulla 11 months ago when chasing home subsequent hunter chase winner Myrons. He brings the standout form into this.

Hollybank King was far from disgraced last time and has to enter the equation, as too does the locally trained Quill Road, who was entitled to have needed his run at Castletown-Geoghegan following a 12 month absence.
