Ninth Handlers Title for Bowe

Colin Bowe is the leading handler for the ninth time, after he finished the shortened season on 44 winners.

In all, he had a total of 216 runners which produced 44 winners, with a further 59 horses making the placings, 32 having finished second and 27 third.

Of those winners, the vast majority were partnered by his long-standing stable jockey Barry O’Neill, with the reigning champion rider, aboard 37 of Bowe’s 44 winners.

A further four riders found success aboard Milestone Stable winners during the season –  James Kenny (3), Rob James (2), Jordan Gainford (1) and Harley Dunne (1).

Colin Bowe made a staggering 729 point-to-point entries this season.

It also proved to be a successful season for Bowe in the sales ring, with six of his point-to-point winners breaking the £100,000 mark.

Here The Comes The Man was one of those, he was knocked down to Gerry Hogan Bloodstock for £210,000 at the Goffs UK Yorton Farm in December. 

The son of Flemensfirth had impressed on his debut when winning his maiden by an impressive 10 lengths in the colours of James Grace. 

Colin Bowe also took the HRI Point-to-Point Award for the second year running. 

In all 147 handlers enjoyed success during the shortened season with Donnchadh Doyle finishing second on 25 winners, and Denis Murphy handler finishing in third on 19 winners.
