The Liam and Valerie Brennan Grade 2 Novice Chase at Punchestown was won by the Bob Murphy trained Darrens Hope.
The only mare in the contest, Darrens Hope put in an exhibition of jumping and prevailed under a strong drive from her rider Danny Mullins.
Winning trainer Bob Murphy said afterwards: ‘It was mighty, we knew she was in good form coming here today. She is a mare that must be ridden from front. ‘
‘We are very lucky to have a good mare like her, for me to breed, own and train her and to win a Grade 2 is just very special.
She has an entry in Fortria Chase next weekend at Navan, so we will have to see how she comes out of todays race.’
The eight-year-old daughter of Oscar started her career between the flags when winning her maiden at Ballynoe. She has now won six races under rules for connections.
Epic finish!
