Conflated was one of three ex-Irish Pointers to taste victory on day three of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival as Deep Cave, a Belclare winner for Ciaran Murphy, won the opening maiden hurdle, whilst Gentlemansgame could now return to Leopardstown for the Dublin Racing Festival after he won the beginners chase for Mouse Morris. The grey had won his point-to-point for Donnchadh Doyle at Curraghmore.

Conflated powers to Grade 1 glory in Savills Chase
Conflated continued a successful Christmas period for the graduates of the point-to-point fields when he ran out a comprehensive winner of the Savills Chase at Leopardstown.
Sent off at the top of the market in a bid to follow-up his course and distance victory in the Irish Gold Cup at the Dublin venue earlier in the year, Jack Kennedy was not happy with the pace that had been set by Paul Townend and Kemboy and elected to stride to the front entering the back straight.
From that point Gordon Elliott's charge injected notable pace into the three-mile contest, and whilst he was rejoined at the fifth-last fence, a good jump three out saw him re-assert at the head of affairs.
In the end he had five lengths to spare over Kemboy with another ex-Pointer Fury Road a further length and a quarter back in third to complete a first and third placing for Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud.
The now eight-year-old, who had started off his career in a Borris House maiden with Eddie Hales, could potentially bid for a crack at the Cheltenham Gold Cup in the spring, with his owner Michael O'Leary suggesting after the race that he had earned himself a crack at the Gold Cup having instead run in the Ryanair Chase this year when falling at the penultimate fence.
