Saturday’s rescheduled fixture at Knockanard is subject to a precautionary inspection on the morning of racing, as is the Kildare Foxhounds fixture in Punchestown.
The going at the advanced course inspection for Knockanard on Saturday was described as heavy with the inspection set to take place at 7am.
“The forecast is to be dry for the rest of the evening [Friday], and all day tomorrow [Saturday], but we are just going to hold a precautionary inspection in the morning just in case there is any further rain,” IHRB Course Inspector James Carroll said.
The six-race card gets underway at 1pm, and includes the third edition of the cross country race at the venue, which is scheduled for 2.30pm.
Seperately, the IHRB have announced that following heavy overnight rain at Punchestown, the going at the point-to-point course there is now heavy, and a precautionary inspection will also take place at 7am on Saturday morning.
Inspections have also been announced on Sunday for Tinahely, Kildorrery and Lisronagh.
