10 declared for the KFM hunt chase for farmers

The KFM hunters chase for the Bishopscourt Cup will be the opening race on the fourth day of the Punchestown Festival.

Ten runners have been declared to go to post in the two-mile four-furlong contest for farmers farming land in the Kildare hunt district, we take a closer look at the combinations below. 

Peter Maher-trained horses account for half of the field here with five horses under his care taking to the track in a bid to find success. 

Last year's winner, Alpha Male, will once again be partnered by Barry O'Neill as he goes in search of back to back victories while Brendan Walsh will take on the ten runner field aboard the 14-year-old Enniskillen. 

Patrick Mullins will take his chances in this €15,000 contest on a son of Robin Des Pres, Change Your Story while Tiernan Power Roche will ride the six-year-old mare Puff of Smoke.

Maher's fifth and final runner, Belocima, will be partnered by Cork man John Barry who won the 2015 and the 2016 renewal of this race aboard Shin A Vee for Denis Cullen. 

Phidelma Elvin will get the ride on the Patrick Hayes-trained Captain Commander who is owned by Kieran Grainger. 

Pat Quinlan's Handy Headon will take to the track with Simon Cavanagh aboard while Niall Redmond will ride the Patrick Hayes-trained eight-year-old Flirting Lesa.
